Editing the same large file (thousands of lines) in vscode allows you to edit different parts of a file using side-by-side views. When one side is edited and formatted and saved, the other view jumps to the last line, significantly slowing down efficiency during editing.
To resolve this issue, find the setting scrollBeyondLastLine
and turn it off.
The side effect is that you cannot drag the editing view beyond the last line, which means you cannot scroll to the center of the screen when editing the last line of small files, but this is a minor issue.
